2. The design life of automobile products is longer. The design life of automobiles is generally around 15 years or 200000 kilometers, which is much longer than the life requirements of consumer electronics products. Therefore, the product life cycle of automotive chips is required to be more than 15 years, and the supply cycle may be as long as 30 years.
Security is particularly important in automotive chips. The security of automotive chips is mainly composed of functional security and information security. The mobile phone chip can be shut down and restarted if it dies, but once the car chip goes down, it may cause serious safety accidents. For functional safety, the international organization IEC has issued IEC61508 standards.
4, automotive chip design should also consider long-term. Automotive chip design must be forward-looking and able to meet the customer's forward-looking needs in the next 3 to 5 years. Therefore, the car gauge chip shows the characteristics of long industrialization cycle and high threshold of supply system.
